Russell-Cooke contributes to Gulf Conferences

Russell-Cooke partner Richard Frimston has been invited to speak at two important conferences in the Gulf at the end of February. The Events are sponsored by the Emirates Group, UAE lawyers Trench & Associates and by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce.
The: 'Asset Protection Symposium: The Impact of Laws on Inheritance' events will take place on the 27th February 2011 at the Emirates Group headquarters, Dubai and 28th February at the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce.
Speakers are internationally recognised experts in the field of inheritance and estate planning. The Symposia will cover issues of concern to both expatriates living in the UAE and UAE families with assets abroad.
Conference topics include:
- Law of succession in the UAE and explanation of the effect of local laws on inheritance planning including recent UAE civil cases.
- Islamic law of inheritance.
- The impact of succession law and of inheritance tax levied on UK domiciled persons.
- US tax and estate planning issues impacting US citizens and green card holders and non US persons with US assets or beneficiaries.
