Joy is an Associate solicitor in the Children Team and has over 20 years experience in the field. She specialises in all aspects of Children Law including contact and residence issues and adoption cases, acting for children, professional guardians, parents and grandparents in cases involving social services. She has particular expertise in cases in which a parent suffers from mental health difficulties and cases where there is an allegation of non-accidental injury or sexually inappropriate behaviour.
Joy is a trained mediator and has been a member of the Law Society Children Panel since 1985. She is also a member of the Association of Lawyers for Children.
She is a Solicitor-Advocate with Higher Courts (Civil Proceedings) advocacy rights giving her rights of audience in the Magistrates, County and High Courts.
Joy has a degree in Jurisprudence from Oxford University and studied Welfare Law at John Moores University. She joined Russell-Cooke in 1986.
