Bassett v Sears Tooth (a Firm) [2004]
Mr Bassett instructed Sears Tooth to act in his divorce and his wife's application for ancillary relief. Sears Tooth issued a number of bills to Mr Bassett during the course of the litigation. At the end of the matter, Mr Bassett sought to have a number of these assessed, including some that he had already paid.

Kent v M&L Management & Legal Ltd and Chapper [2005]
Mrs Kent and Mr Chapper were brother and sister. Their mother had brought proceedings against M&L and Mr Chapper in 1994 relating to a property transaction in 1979. In 2000, shortly after his mother's death, the claim against Mr Chapper was struck out because of her delays and non-compliance with directions.
