Dawn Alderson

Partner at Russell-Cooke and the head of the French Law and Property Department.  Dual qualified Solicitor (admitted 1985) and French Avocat.  Educated at Durham University.

Bilingual French/English.

Admitted to Bordeaux Bar in 1996 and practises in France and in England.

Sole practitioner in Bordeaux for ten years before joining Russell-Cooke in 2000.

Dawn has a wealth of practical experience in Anglo/French matters and is reputed for her attention to detail combined with a sound knowledge of French law.  She has become a highly respected figure in the domain of French and cross-border private client work for English clients.

Known for handling complex, high quality private client work, she often assists other professionals in resolving issues involving French law and procedure.

Regularly consulted on all matters relating to acquiring and owning property in France, including planning restrictions, she also advises on wills, probate and estate and tax planning for UK individuals owning property in France or relocating there on a permanent basis.

She works closely with Russell-Cooke’s Private Client Department on a variety of cross border matters relating to tax, wills and successions with a French connection.

Dawn also advises as an Expert in French law in UK legal proceedings.

Member of the French Chamber of Commerce (UK) , the Franco-British Lawyer’s Association and STEP UK and STEP France (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners).
