Biography

Jason Hunter

Partner and Head of Russell-Cooke's Contentious Property department.

Jason handles all types of commercial and residential property disputes (not construction), including repossession, rent and service charge collection, business tenancy renewals, dilapidations claims, boundary and easement disputes, enfranchisement disputes, mortgage claims and rent review disputes.

Jason was Chairman of the Property Litigation Association (2003/4) and previously Vice Chairman of the same organisation. As a representative of the PLA, Jason was also a member of the Government's consultative group on the reforms to the 1954 Act. In 2000/2001 he was Chairman of the PLA's Law Reform Committee.

Jason is also an accredited mediator and has been appointed in many mediations in disputes ranging in value from just a few thousand pounds to several millions.

Jason has written articles in a number of legal and property journals and is an author of the dilapidations sections of two RICS handbooks.

Jason is the author of 'Business Tenancies: A Guide to the New Law' (Law Society, 2004) and also of 'Dilapidations' (Case in Point series, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, 2006).
