Charities seldom have huge amounts of spare cash and it makes sense to use what assets they have for the best possible advantage. Property assets, whether owned or leased, are no exception. This seminar will focus on letting or licensing your spare space or property - how to go about it and what things to consider.

James McCallum, Clare Garbett and Catherine Evans in the charity and social business team will cover:

  • letting, licensing and hiring: what the main features are in each case and why the differences are important
  • main terms to considering the arrangement: financial issues and ensuring fair recovery of your costs in relation to the building
  • what is needed to enter into the arrangement: consideration of charity law and governance issues, planning and other permissions and tax treatment
