James Carroll, partner in our family team and Co-Chair of the Law Society Family Committee, has appeared across a variety of broadcast and online media today (28 February 2013) commenting on a Legal Ombudsman report that suggests poor legal services and inaccurate costs may be making the divorce process more difficult for customers.
The report reveals that 18% of the 7,500 complaints the Legal Ombudsman resolved last year were about divorce or family law related cases, making it the most complained about area of law in England and Wales. James commented that a good family solicitor should be upfront and transparent with their client on costs and focus upon resolution to keep the level of costs reasonable.
