Bereaved families are being charged punitive rates of interest on their inheritance tax (IHT) bills because of huge delays in the courts, according to Telegraph Money.
Families could be forced into paying extra death duties through no fault of their own as overdue IHT attracts interest rates in excess of 3 percent – more than four times the official Bank Rate.
