Jason Hunter and Georgia Haughney show their expertise in the February issue of Expert Witness

In the February issue of The Expert Witness, partner Jason Hunter explores how many experts in civil litigation may not be experts after all. He likens negligent expert responses to "lazy parenting" because who else says "because I say so and probably then immediately lose all credibility."

Associate, Georgia Haughney, also features in February's issue. Georgia reveals how COVID-19 and its restrictions have inadvertently increased the occurrence of predatory marriages due to elderly people social isolating and therefore more susceptible to grooming.

Jason is a partner and head of the property and housing litigation team, specialising in the avoidance or resolution of property disputes. He advises on all areas of property litigation, including landlord and tenant law (residential, mixed use and commercial) and property disputes about boundaries, party walls, restrictive covenants, trespass, rights of way, and rights of light.

Georgia is an associate in the trust and estate disputes team. She advises on contentious Court of Protection matters and acts for people who lack capacity, deputies, attorneys and other interested parties on matters such as disputes relating to financial abuse, the removal of deputies and attorneys, statutory wills and disputed lifetime gifts.
