Richard Frimston, partner in Russell-Cooke's private client team, was a key speaker at the first STEP European Cross Border conference in Frankfurt on 4th May 2011.

The conference addressed current EU developments, in particular the status of the succession directive (Rome IV), the perception of continental European marriage contracts (pre-nuptial agreements) by other jurisdictions, trusts and trust taxation in Germany and cross-border issues.

Richard delivered a presentation on the proposed Brussels IV Succession Regulation and with Anneke Vrenegoor about the proposed Rome IV Matrimonial Property Regime Regulation.

The conference was well attended by people from all around the EU.
