John Wotton, President of The Law Society, visited Russell-Cooke's offices on 22 March with Julia Bateman (Head of International) and Jemma Ralph (Senior Relationship Manager) to discuss current issues affecting the provision of legal services.
Russell-Cooke was represented by Senior Partner John Gould, Deputy Senior Partner Nigel Coates, Head of Private Client Richard Frimston and Senior Associate Gareth Ledsham.
Issues discussed included the entry of alternative business structures into the legal services market, international practice, activities reserved to solicitors, Russell-Cooke's approach to corporate responsibility, public funding for legal services and career challenges for younger solicitors.
John Gould commented:
"We value our relationship with The Law Society as our representative body and it is always useful to have an opportunity to exchange views on the issues affecting legal services. This is particularly true at a time of exceptionally rapid change and development."
