Russell-Cooke's real estate team has advised the landlord on the completion of a lease to the retail giant Next, for their new three-storey flagship store on London's Oxford Street.
The new 60,000 square foot store will be one of the main units at 120 Oxford Street which is being redeveloped by its owner – a longstanding client of the firm. Approximately 20 units in the centre have been knocked into one to make room for the high street chain.
The move by Next into the shopping centre at the east end of Oxford Street will coincide with the opening of the new Tottenham Court Road Crossrail station in late 2018. When complete, Tottenham Court Road will be one of London's busiest stations, with more than 200,000 passengers passing through the station every day.
The Russell-Cooke team was led by real estate partner, Arnold Isaacson, with support from Kieran Soobadoo and Rachael Rigamonti. The deal called upon specialists in construction (Peter Kitson), planning (Alex Ground) and property litigation (Paul Greatholder and Ed Cracknell).
