Whilst there is a greater awareness of intersectionality in 2018, the groups with the most knowledge on the term are those to whom intersectionality means the most, such as social activists and marginalised groups seeking social equality.
Nimmisha Aslam was invited to speak at the InterLaw Diversity Forum in early February. This was a combined meeting celebrating LGBT History Month and BAME (Black Asian and Minority Ethnic) voices and intersectionality.
Nimmisha's article LGBT history month - a plea for intersectionality is available to read on the Law Society website.
Nimmisha is an associate in the personal injury and clinical negligence team. She advises clients on a range of claims including accidents at work, road traffic accidents, criminal injuries compensation authority claims, tripping accidents, dental claims, misdiagnosis of medical conditions and negligent operations.
Nimmisha is also one of the founding members of the Law Society LGBT+ Committee.
