Last week the new chair of the Charity Commission, Baroness Stowell, set out a regulatory approach that is intended to "rebuild trust".

James Sinclair Taylor appears in Third Sector questioning whether the approach would mean the regulator's work will be dictated by the media. James says comments made by Baroness Stowell suggest the "core focus of regulatory behaviour will be whatever features in the news".

Lawyer says he fears regulator's work will be dictated by the media is available to read on the Third Sector website.

James is a partner in the charity and social business team advising social enterprises and not-for-profit public bodies, including local authorities, mutuals and charities.
