Charities may need to share their property in a variety of circumstances, ranging from collaborative working to provision of accommodation to beneficiaries and income-generation. This seminar will focus on the measures charities can take to prevent disputes arising from such arrangements, and how to deal with disputes when they do arise.

Our charity property solicitors James McCallum and Catherine Evans will be joined by property litigators Stephen Small and Elizabeth Fox, to discuss:

  • recovering rent and/or licence fees and other arrears when an occupier fails to pay
  • dealing with disrepair
  • defending your position when an occupier claims to have greater rights over your property than you intended to grant
  • recovering possession when an occupier refuses to vacate
  • charity law considerations when handling property disputes
