Samantha Little, head of Russell-Cooke's Children Department, has been named Family Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year. She picked up the award at the recent Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Awards (LALYs) ceremony which is organised by The Legal Aid Practitioners Group.
On presenting the award, John Howard said: "Samantha is a highly respected and experienced solicitor in her field of public law children and adoption cases. She wins praise from the judiciary for being ‘meticulous in every way, very hard working and always anxious to assist the court'.
"Samantha is unfailingly committed to her clients, but also to bringing on the next generation of family lawyers - sharing her hard-won expertise through her extensive work with Resolution."
The ceremony, which is the 6th such event organised by the Legal Aid Practitioners Group, was co-presented by Cherie Booth QC, who also chaired the judging panel.
Samantha has been involved with committee and training work for Resolution, a national organisation of family lawyers, for some years. Resolution chairman, Godfrey Freeman, said "Samantha is a hugely deserving winner of this award. She is widely respected for her commitment, intelligence and sensitive approach." She also received a personal message of congratulations from Law Society President Paul Marsh.
