Fiona Read, partner in our family team, has recently been elected to hear private children disputes between parents in her role as a part-time district judge. This new remit is in addition to the usual family and civil disputes she presides over.

Only judges authorised by the Ministry of Justice are permitted to hear such disputes and there are only a small percentage of part-time judges who are invited to apply for this extra responsibility.

In addition to being a solicitor and sitting as a district judge, Fiona was one of the first people to qualify as an arbitrator and is also a mediator and collaborative lawyer. View Fiona's biography.

Fiona is part of a 23-strong family team at Russell-Cooke that will benefit from her experience in dealing with these cases. Find out more about our family law services.
