As of the 1 September 2014, two partners of Russell-Cooke will be joining committees of the Legal Affairs and Policy Board.
Richard Frimston, partner and head of the private client group, has been appointed as a member of the EU Committee. The European Union Committee is responsible for ensuring that the Law Society responds to relevant EU proposals and communications in a timely and effective manner, and for assisting the Society in its lobbying activity in the EU institutions.
The second appointment is Kieran Bowe, partner in the private client group who joins the Wills and Equity Committee. The duty of the committee is to keep under review and to promote improvements in the law and procedure relating to wills, probate, trusts and charities, to liaise with the Probate Section on matters referred to and on practice development initiatives in those areas.
