Russell-Cooke has made six promotions to Partner and Senior Associate effective 1 July 2015.
Rachael Rigamonti, Alex Ground and Gareth Ledsham have been appointed Partner:
- Rachael Rigamonti, in the commercial property group, joined the firm in 2007 and advises on a wide range of property transactions including acquisitions and disposals, leasehold matters and property finance; but with a particular interest in retail work, advising both landlords and major retailers. Recommended by the Legal 500 directory for being "commercially savvy", Rachael has been involved in high value and large portfolio transactions including a £41.5 million acquisition of the iconic Liberty store in London's West End.
- Alex Ground, in the commercial property group, joined the firm in 2012 and has, for over 10 years, specialised in the full spectrum of planning work and advising on contentious matters and transaction support. Identified as a notable practitioner in Chambers directory and recognised in the Thomson Reuters 2015 'London Super Lawyers' lists as a 'rising star', Alex has dealt with M&A involving real estate investment companies, energy companies and banks; as well as advising on planning applications for Perenco and acting for Sports Direct in relation to several Compulsory Purchase Orders.
- Gareth Ledsham, in the trust and estate disputes team, joined the firm in 2008 and acts in matters such as bringing and defending challenges to wills, disputes with personal representatives, trust and estate administration disputes and bringing and defending claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975. He also acts in contested matters before the Court of Protection. Fluent in French and recommended in the Legal 500 directory as 'very experienced and attuned to the needs of his clients', much of Gareth's work involves an international element and he has particular experience in disputes arising in estates with assets in England and France.
These three promotions bring the firm's partnership to a total of 55 with more than 45% of them being female.
Jonathan Thornton, Managing Partner, at Russell-Cooke, said: "I am delighted to announce these six promotions. They demonstrate our commitment to strengthening our depth and breadth of expertise. We value our relationships with clients and these appointments reflect our continuous development in providing specialist legal advice in what are often complex and challenging areas such as trust and estate disputes, family and children law and real estate transactions."
Those promoted to Senior Associate are Lauren Hall, Rachel Stewart and Jeremy Pickering, who together bolster the family and residential property practice areas.
All the above six promotions are effective 1 July 2015.
