Russell-Cooke recently hosted a visit from twelve 16 to 17 year olds who were part of the National Citizen Service – the Challenge. This was the second year that the NCS had asked Russell-Cooke to host the event after a successful visit in 2016.

The NCS Challenge programme is a government-funded initiative that brings together schools, community organisations, businesses and individuals to build a stronger and more cohesive society. Part of the initiative involves organisations hosting a group of young people to offer them insight into what life is like at work.

To give the students a taste of working life in a professional services organisation presentations were given by staff from our private client, human resources and marketing teams. After a tour of the office, the students then delivered a practice run of a Dragon’s Den style fundraising pitch to Russell-Cooke staff.

Managing Partner, Jonathan Thornton, who was himself a 'dragon', said “It was great to have such an enthusiastic and engaging group of students visit our offices. Their Dragon’s Den pitch was impressive and we look forward to hearing that they have secured the funding.”
