Peter Cadman, partner in the regulation team, has been appointed specialist arbitrator and mediator for Sport Resolutions' pro-bono service for sports disputes with particular reference to athlete selection and eligibility, integrity and discipline and football.

Sport Resolutions' pro-bono service provides legal advice and representation to athletes, coaches, team officials, and other individuals appearing before Sport Resolutions and other sport specific tribunals. The pro-bono service was created to provide a safety net for unrepresented individuals who do not have the means to fund their own representation.

Peter's role as arbitrator and mediator is to be the decision maker on sports disputes. He commented, "I'm looking forward to further engagement in the sporting area – in both high performance and sensitive situations."

Peter has extensive experience as a solicitor advocate in all courts, with a thorough knowledge of the law of evidence in adversarial proceedings. He has provided advice as a legal adviser to sports bodies and advised on rule changes, as well as advice and assistance to various professional sports organisations as to their intellectual property rights and the protection of those rights. This also includes advice given to broadcasters such as British Sky Broadcasting Limited.
