Russell-Cooke has today announced the appointment of Kizzy Augustin as a partner in its fraud and criminal litigation team, specialising in health and safety. Kizzy joins the firm from Pinsent Masons where she led their health and safety team in London.
Kizzy has built her reputation in defending companies, senior directors and employees in corporate manslaughter and serious fire / health and safety prosecutions. She has particular expertise in issues that arise within the construction, care homes, environmental, manufacturing, fire, rail and retail industries.
As well as advising on actual health and safety incidents, Kizzy has also built her practice around offering important preventative consultancy advice to high profile corporate and commercial clients, advising on their corporate policies and procedures and how to ensure compliance with current legislation.
Having previously worked at a local authority, where she was responsible for prosecuting companies and individuals in breach of health and safety legislation, she has a valuable insight into the entire prosecution process.
Commenting on Kizzy's appointment, Jae Carwardine, head of the fraud and criminal litigation team, said: "Kizzy brings to the firm a wealth of experience and expertise in health and safety work. She is a significant addition to our team's existing strength in this growing area of work and will be working closely with our industry sector experts across the firm".
Kizzy brings the number of partners at Russell-Cooke to 61.
