Janice Gardner, partner in the personal injury and clinical negligence team at Russell-Cooke, has been instructed to act for David Briffaut by his family on a potential claim against Aqualandia theme park in Spain.
David suffered a traumatic injury to his vertebrae and spinal column when he hit the water at the bottom of the 'Splash' ride at the Aqualandia water park in Benidorm in Spain. One of the potential effects of such injuries is paralysis from the chest down. David is 23 and a greenkeeper for a golf club in Essex.
Janice Gardner says: "This is a devastating accident for a young man with his whole life ahead of him. While it is not yet clear what the long term outlook is for him, he has certainly suffered life-changing injuries and will require specialist health care and intensive support in the future. His family are of course seeking answers from Aqualandia and requesting that any witnesses make themselves known so we can put together the full facts of the case."
Janice has acted on numerous high-profile and high-value personal injury and clinical negligence cases including many relating to head and spinal injuries. She is known for achieving positive outcomes in particularly challenging circumstances where the outcome for the victim will be life-changing.
