Jodi Chapman and Jim Fairclough acted for the purchaser of a farm which was subject to a chancel repair liability. They needed to ensure that the liability and any liability for future repairs was released upon completion of purchase. This was a challenge given that the release of this particular liability was not something that had occurred to their knowledge in recent times.
