Our regulation team advised and represented the Architects Registration Board (ARB) in the prosecution of Leopoldine Van Daalen of four charges under the Fraud Act 2006 after she provided forged degree certificates along with other fake documents in a bid to join the ARB’s Register as a qualified architect.

Ms Van Daalen was prosecuted under section 2 of the Fraud Act 2006 namely fraud by false representation and was found guilty at Southwark Crown Court by a unanimous jury for all four allegations. Ms Van Daalen was sentenced to a 15 month custodial sentence, suspended for a period of 15 months and ordered to complete 130 hours of community work.
