Russell-Cooke's charity and social business team has been advising Breast Cancer Now ahead of its merger with Breast Cancer Care. The two charities will unite in Spring 2019 to form the UK's first comprehensive breast cancer charity united by the shared ambition that, by 2050, everyone who develops breast cancer will live and be supported to live well.
Under the overall supervision of Andrew Studd, Russell-Cooke's team helped scope the legal side of the project before producing a due diligence report for the Board of Breast Cancer Now.
Several members of the team fed into the due diligence exercise including Clare Garbett, in relation to property matters and Carla Whalen in relation to employment and data protection. Gareth Roy drafted the agreement between the two charities and the team then liaised with Breast Cancer Care's lawyers in order to finalise the agreement which will become effective in April 2019.
