The inquest into the tragic deaths of 11 men following an horrific air crash during the Shoreham air show on 22 August 2015 finally concluded on Tuesday, 20 December 2022 at West Sussex Coroner’s Court after a three-week hearing.

The senior coroner for West Sussex, Penelope Schofield, reached the conclusion that the men were unlawfully killed and that the deaths occurred as a result of the exceptionally bad errors made by the pilot during an incorrectly flown looping manoeuvre.

Dominic Fairclough who represented the family of Daniele Polito who was one of the 11 who lost his life stated: “it has taken too long to conclude the inquest but the bereaved families are pleased that finally there has been some form of justice handed down. I am sad that Daniele’s mum, Mrs Leslye Polito, died before the inquest started as I know the coroner’s conclusion would have brought her some comfort.”
