Senior associate Katie Cooper attended Propski from 20-24 January with partner Pippa Beesley and senior associates Thomas Ferguson and Mark Toland, representing the real estate team which co-sponsored the event. She reflects on her experience below.

And just like that Propski2024 has drawn to a close. Come Monday Propskiers will be swapping their office on the slopes for their regular desks, and instead of sipping coffee at La Maison with views of VT (see picture below) will be returning to their usual coffee haunts. It’s safe to say it will be a shock to the system.

Reflecting on the week, I only have positive words for Propski and I’m not alone. LinkedIn has been filled with accolades of “best yet”, “can’t wait for next year” and “incredible week”. What a fantastic arena to meet likeminded people, broaden your network and learn more about the fabulous industry we have the pleasure of working in. With over 600 property professionals attending numerous all delegate events, the BD opportunities were immeasurable.

So what is Propski?

It’s a networking trip held exclusively for UK property professionals to meet, compete and network on the slopes. With a new focussed networking approach this year separating events into two sectors; ‘Live’ and ‘Work’ there were more events than ever to attend and optimal opportunity to meet those most beneficial for your sector.

This year we were honoured to be invited to sponsor the event and were delighted to partner with Rapleys, an action-orientated property consultancy, to be joint lead sponsors; a privilege to sponsor a trip that has become a firm fixture in the real estate BD calendar.

But for those looking from afar it’s not only blue skies and skiing. It’s a working trip. The conversations don’t stop; on the slopes, off the slopes, in the skies, at Après and everywhere in-between. I’ve met some incredible people along the way but if a word count could be monitored like steps (it probably can!) it’s safe to say mine would be through the roof. What’s more, the networking doesn’t stop here.

What a fantastic arena to meet likeminded people, broaden your network and learn more about the fabulous industry we have the pleasure of working in."

What’s next?

We will be looking to catch up with contacts old and new, make introductions both to departments across the firm and to clients and see some of our fellow Propskiers at MIPIM*. If Propksi was the best yet, I have a feeling MIPIM just might be too.

*A 4 day international real estate exhibition, conference and networking event held in Cannes (12th-15th March 2024).
