Since the coronavirus lockdown, I have had to stop renting my office space and have relocated my business to my home. The problem is that I rent my home and my lease does not allow me to use my flat for business purposes. Is this going to be a problem with the landlord?
It could be. Most assured shorthold tenancies (ASTs) prohibit business use, but since the UK went into lockdown on March 23, many renters will have had little choice but to work from home. It will all come down to the nature of your business: how many people are working with you at the flat? And do you have regular deliveries or customer visits?
