Jenny Bird, solicitor in the private client group, recently appeared on BBC Radio 4's Moneybox Live discussing the rule changes in wills and inheritance tax planning which came into force on 1 October 2014.

Jenny Bird joined Nicola Plant, partner and Notary Public, Pemberton Greenish Solicitors, and Austin Lafferty, Austin Lafferty Solicitors and past President of the Law Society of Scotland to answer questions such as:
- without a will, who will inherit and who will be responsible for settling your affairs?
- if you want to draw up a will what should you consider, how much will it cost and should you do it yourself?
- can you give away assets before you die or protect someone's interests after you are gone?
- what can you pass on to your nearest and dearest without paying inheritance tax?
