Russell-Cooke has welcomed three newly qualified solicitors who have been given permanent positions with the firm, following the successful completion of their two year training contracts.
Leah Hayden is now an associate in the corporate and commercial team, Rachel McCastman has qualified into the charity and social business group and Evie Smyth takes up a permanent position in the family team.
The training contract at Russell-Cooke consists of four seats of six months each. Depending on those seats, trainees may rotate around the firm's offices in Putney, Bedford Row and Kingston upon Thames. Each trainee will work in at least two offices over the course of their training contract.
The firm usually takes on around 8-10 trainees per year, the majority of whom start in September. Due to the disruption caused by Covid-19, the September 2020 intake will in fact have staggered arrivals, split between September 2020 and January 2021.
Graduate recruitment partner Rebecca Fisher, who took up the position on 7 September 2020 replacing Alison Regan, said: "Having worked with trainees for many years I have seen for myself how they grow and develop over the course of their training contract. All three of our new qualifiers have already made a strong contribution to Russell-Cooke, not just in terms of their legal work but also in their active involvement in the life of the firm. It hasn’t exactly been an easy time to qualify but they’ve stayed incredibly positive and focused throughout. They will provide strong role models for our current and future trainees as we continue our return to a more normalised office working environment."
