ILEX instructed Russell Cooke's regulation team to prosecute several cases of student members cheating in professional examinations. The case was prosecuted in the ILEX Disciplinary Tribunal and Appeal Tribunal.

It was a complex case relying on expert evidence and the team was lead by the advocate instructed in the matter Peter Cadman.  All matters were proved and all students were excluded from membership of ILEX.  Russell-Cooke were instructed to prosecute and offer advice in the matter from an early stage.  Peter Cadman was instructed as the solicitor advocate and Matt Bosworth assisted him.

The matter led onto an application for permission to judicially review the findings of the Appeal Tribunal.  The application was dismissed by the Administrative Court of the High Court.
