Acting for the wife of the Deceased in relation to a claim pursuant to the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975. The Deceased was a US citizen but spent most of his adult life in England, having married, bought property and started a business here.

The wife is bringing a claim for financial provision from the Deceased's estate which is being defended on the basis that the Deceased was not domiciled in England.

There is also a dispute as to the ownership of some valuable chattels located in Illinois and issues concerning which law applies, England or the state of Illinois, and how this affects the claim.
