About James
I take a calm, thoughtful and strategic approach to every case, and my aim is to resolve matters in the most sensible, constructive way possible. When court proceedings are unavoidable, I’m a robust litigator for my clients.
James advises on a broad range of family law matters, including divorce, dissolution and separation; financial settlements and financial remedies (applications for financial orders); private children matters, including child arrangements, international and domestic relocation, and Schedule 1 applications (financial provision for children); injunctions under the Family Law Act (non-molestation and occupation orders); pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements; and disputes between cohabitants and unmarried couples, including TOLATA claims (property ownership disputes).
James has experience advising high-net-worth clients with complex and often international assets. His clients include company directors, executives, lawyers and those in the financial, technology and medical sectors, as well as their spouses and partners.
James’s experience encompasses both court proceedings and non-court dispute resolution, having supported clients through mediation, early neutral evaluation, private settlement hearings and arbitration.
Before practising law, James was a university lecturer and academic in the field of English literature.
