About Kerrina
Kerrina is a fourth-seat trainee in the education team, having previously undertaken seats in dispute resolution (insolvency), enfranchisement, personal injury and medical negligence.
Kerrina specialises in cases involving Special Educational Needs (SEN), Disability discrimination claims, judicial review, school admission appeals, exclusion appeals, complaints to schools, local authorities and regulators, as well as school transport.
Prior to joining the firm, Kerrina worked for a leading deaf children’s charity for seven years, including working for 17 months as a legal adviser. She supported families of deaf children and deaf young people with disability discrimination claims, exclusion appeals, EHC needs assessments, EHCP reviews, school transport matters and pre-action correspondence for judicial review challenges. She has also studied British Sign Language (BSL) to Signature Level 2.
Kerrina has a strong understanding of the barriers faced by children and young people with special educational needs, as well as the significant demands placed on parents and carers when navigating the SEN system. She is committed to helping families secure appropriate provision so that all children can thrive.
