We advise employers (ranging from London based, to national and multi-national employers) when they are faced with claims for:
- wrongful dismissal
- unfair dismissal (including constructive dismissal)
Experience has shown us that employers will be far better off if they seek expert legal advice as soon as they receive a claim form. This will allow you to properly assess the claim and file a defence in good time, avoiding any oversights or inconsistencies that may ultimately count against you.
Employers should consider the benefits of insuring against the risk of such claims in the future, if they do not already have such insurance. Our Employment Risk Solutions product allows you to do so for an annual premium.
We are one of a relatively small number of employment law teams that is highly recommended in The Legal 500 (the independent legal research directory), which notes that we are a team of "tenacious and committed litigators, which delivers appropriate and measured advice that gives clients confidence in its ability".
- We look to assess the strength of a claim as soon as possible and if you have a strong defence we will make sure you take advantage of this. We understand that, sometimes, defending a claim will be a matter of principle. Equally, we recognise that employers appreciate commercial judgment and can benefit from a speedy resolution to disputes.
- We are always realistic and if there are weaknesses in your position we will identify them at an early stage. This will allow you to deal with a claim in the most effective way and take an informed view on any negotiations or settlement.

Charges are usually based on our hourly rates plus disbursements. We will provide you with an initial estimate of your likely legal costs and will update this as your requirements or the circumstances of the work change.
Find out more about our pricing, including our range of hourly rates and an example fee estimate. We would be pleased to discuss your requirements free of charge and tailor a costs proposal accordingly.
We also offer a product called Employment Risk Solutions. For a fixed annual fee this provides advice and assistance from one of our qualified lawyers in dealing with employment issues at an early stage and insurance to cover costs and compensation in the event that an employment tribunal claim is made.
Business Link was developed in partnership with subject experts within government and relevant business-support organisations to help companies comply with regulations and improve performance.
In October 2012, a new ‘centralised’ Government website replaced both Businesslink.gov.uk and Directgov.uk (www.gov.uk)www.businesslink.gov.uk
Directgov aims to provide easy access to government information and services. It does this by working closely with ministerial departments and non-departmental public bodies to collate key information all in one place.www.direct.gov.uk
