Advising the Royal Mail Estates Limited on the new British Postal Museum (a change of use from offices to the museum with ancillary bar/café, extension) working alongside consultant team on the planning application and then leading on the s106 and s278 agreements – particular issues for objectors had related to visitor numbers and how to control the same to minimise impacts (detailed provisions on travel plan were negotiated), impacts from use of the museum for corporate events (in respect of which we proposed and negotiated a detailed event space management plan), and obligations related to ensuring wide access was possible from the local community at nil/discounted rates.
