Start your legal career straight from school while earning a salary and working towards qualifying as a solictor.

Ready to start your legal career?

We are proud to launch our Solicitor Apprenticeship Programme. Over the six-year programme, you will have the opportunity to combine practical work within our legal teams with structured academic study. Why choose a solicitor apprenticeship at Russell-Cooke?

Gain practical legal experience in a supportive and welcoming environment

At Russell-Cooke, you will have the opportunity to experience a broad range of legal work while learning from approachable specialists across the firm. We want our apprentices to take on meaningful work, build strong relationships with clients and colleagues, and develop the confidence and skills needed for a long-term career in law.

You will join a firm known not only for the quality and variety of its work, but also for its supportive culture. In the latest Legal 500 Future Lawyers survey, Russell-Cooke achieved a Top 3 ranking for work-life balance and a Top 10 ranking for its vacation scheme. Trainees praised the firm’s “excellent culture and work-life balance”, the quality of its supervision and the opportunity to take on real responsibility.

We have also been named Work/Life Balance Winner at the Legal Cheek Awards 2025, Law Firm of the Year: The Independents at The Lawyer Awards 2025, and Law Firm of the Year at the LexisNexis Legal Awards 2026.

Throughout the programme, you will be supported to learn, contribute and find the areas of law that interest you most. We recruit with the future in mind and hope that our apprentices will build lasting careers with Russell-Cooke.
