Purchase and sale of freeholds

Purchase and sale of freeholds

Introduction and overview to purchase and sale of freeholds

We advise freeholders and flat owners in relation to statutory claims served under the leasehold reform legislation. Many of our clients collectively group together in order to acquire the freehold of their apartment blocks in order to gain control of its service charge expenditure and following completion of the acquisition, would then extend the term of their leases to a period of 999 years. This process is known as collective enfranchisement.

Our market leading and award winning team has been advising individuals and freehold entities for many years. The process can be challenging, daunting and complex and we work with many specialist valuers. We would be able navigate you through this process to ensure you get the result you require.

How our solicitors can help with purchase and sale of freeholds

Key services offered

We also advise individual freeholders and freehold entities in relation to the disposal of their freehold interests under the process known as the Right of First Refusal. This entails service of notices on the flat owners under the strict procedure prescribed by the Landlord & Tenant Act 1987.

In addition, we also advise our freehold clients when they are served with notices under the leasehold reform legislation and we would be able to navigate them through this process to ensure that they achieve the best financial outcome.

Here are some comments made about us.

Not only did Shabnam sort out our lease extension in a timely fashion, but she also made it a pleasure instead of a chore. I have used many solicitors over the years, but Shabnam shines bright in that world, and I look forward to dealing with her again.
