Historically (and rather unusually) this family has been particularly active in terms of actively managing and distributing its wealth and has called on our advice to assist in doing so. The family’s assets are largely based onshore in the UK but held through a variety of structures including offshore trust arrangements.

Within the family unit, enabling this distribution of wealth has involved a programme of large lifetime gifts to future generations and the advice that often accompanies this. Our advice is  both in terms of how to give effect to the desired arrangements and effectively integrate future generations into the management of the structures set up to manage the wealth, and in terms of related matters such as the suitability of pre-nuptial agreements.

Beyond the immediate family relationship, we have drawn on our expertise in the charitable sector to advise on the establishment of a philanthropic institute for the family.
