Alison has expertise in the establishment of charities and not-for-profits, mergers and acquisitions within the charity sector, drafting and negotiating agreements with external entities, charitable fundraising compliance and governance advice.
She is known for her clear, practical advice and sector knowledge, supporting clients to establish and grow purpose-driven organisations. Alison previously worked in the charity team at an Australian firm, bringing international experience and insight to her practice. She also has experience in governance, working with Sisters of the Good Samaritan Foundation to support women and children across the Asia-Pacific.
Experience
Assisted with the legal restructuring of a joint venture behind a nationally televised fundraising event, advising on revised agreements including joint venture, trademark licensing, funding, and broadcasting. Supported commercial contracts and ensured the structure aligned with the charity’s long-term fundraising strategy.
Advised on the merger of two disability-focused charities to form a new entity with significant national reach. Provided guidance on legal structuring, asset and liability transfers, regulatory approvals, and post-merger implementation, helping facilitate a smooth transition for staff and service users.
Supported a health charity expanding its corporate partnerships following a major grant. Developed tailored agreements for sponsorships and brand collaborations, advised on fundraising compliance, and integrated brand protection measures for partnerships with major national retailers.
