About Carmen

One of the most fulfilling aspects of my role is guiding clients through what can be overwhelming and difficult issues or circumstances and ensuring I achieve the best outcome for their matter.

Carmen advises clients on all aspects of private client law including wills, estate planning and trusts, probate and estate administration, lasting powers of attorney and Court of Protection matters. 

She is known for her compassionate approach, her attention to detail and her ability to guide clients through complex cross-border matters.

Carmen is bilingual. She was born in Spain and has studied law and worked in law firms in both the UK and Spain.

Carmen qualified as a solicitor at a leading private client firm in 2018 and joined Russell-Cooke in 2023.

Experience

  • Assisted in the setting up of a leading private client firm’s trust corporation for the purposes of acting as an executor or trustee in the administration of trusts and/or estates. 

  • Spain: Drafted UK only estate wills for a high-net-worth couple living in Spain ensuring those wills did not revoke their previous non-UK wills. 

  • Cross-border estate administration: Advised on the administration of the estate of an intestate French resident with real estate in the UK. Also advised on the death of the intestate personal representative (also resident in France) and the ongoing administration of both estates. 
  • France, Singapore, Australia, Malaysia and British Virgin Islands: Cross-border estate planning and will drafting for a high-net-worth couple resident in the UK and with assets in the UK, France, Singapore, Australia, Malaysia and British Virgin Islands.

  • France, Belgium and Switzerland: Cross-border estate planning and will drafting for a high-net-worth client with UK and French nationality and with assets in the UK, France, Belgium and Switzerland. Co-ordinating succession between their personal estate and trust assets in Switzerland following a post-nuptial agreement. 

Education

  • Read law with Hispanic law at University College London and Universidad Carlos III Madrid 

  • Completed the Legal Practice Course at BPP Holborn

  • Qualified as an ADR Group Accredited Civil and Commercial Mediator
