Helena French is an associate in the family team.

She advises on a range of family matters arising from the breakdown of relationships or where there are disputes relating to children. These include divorce and separation, financial proceedings, matters involving children, and issues arising from the situation of non-married couples.

Helena is committed to resolving family matters amicably and constructively and achieving cost and time effective resolutions.

As well as advising her own clients, Helena assists the family partners on more complex cases.

Helena trained at Russell-Cooke and qualified into the family team in 2018.

Helena sits on the Surrey YRes committee and helps to arrange training and events for junior family lawyers throughout the country.

  • Assisted on financial remedy proceedings which had an international element with complex business structures and overseas assets
  • Assisted in cases with clients with complex mental health histories
  • Helena is a member of Resolution, an organisation of family lawyers focused on achieving family and child focused resolutions to disputes, and Young Resolution.

Helena read Combined Honours in History, Spanish and Italian at Durham University.

She then studied the Graduate Diploma in law and accelerated Legal Practice Course at the University of Law, achieving distinctions in both.
