Nimmisha Aslam secured a £600,000 settlement for a 44 year-old woman who received a delayed diagnosis of appendicitis.

Our client sustained faecal peritonitis, anaphylactic shock, IBS-D, increased risk of pelvic adhesions, facial telangiectasia, PTSD and a mild depressive episode as a result of this delayed diagnosis. The client’s IBS symptoms would be permanent, although there would be some improvement with treatment. There would also be some long term PTSD symptoms.

Although the case was settled on a global basis, it is estimated that damages were broken down as follows; general damages for pain and suffering £80,000, loss of earnings £510,000, care £2,000, medical treatment £8,000.
