Difficult birth experiences can have a lasting impact – physically, emotionally and psychologically. Many families are left trying to piece together what happened, whether their care was appropriate and what support is available to them.

To help address these questions, Russell-Cooke’s medical negligence specialists are once again working in partnership with the Birth Trauma Association (UK) to deliver a free legal advice clinic for those affected by birth trauma.

The clinic will take place on Friday 12 June 2026, offering individuals and families the opportunity to speak directly with specialist solicitors in a confidential and supportive setting.

Appointments are available online or in person in either our Putney office or Holborn office, depending on your preference.

How we can help you

Understanding what happened during a difficult birth is often the first step towards moving forward. Our clinic is designed to provide clear, practical guidance without pressure or obligation.

During a free 30-minute consultation, you will be able to:

  • talk through your experience openly and at your own pace
  • ask questions about the care you or your baby received
  • understand whether there may be grounds for a legal claim
  • learn what next steps could look like, if you choose to pursue them

Our experience in birth trauma and medical negligence

Our team specialises in supporting families affected by:

  • birth injuries, such as cerebral palsy and other brain injuries linked to complications during labour or delivery
  • maternal harm, including severe tearing, pelvic injuries, prolapse and other complications that may not have been recognised or treated appropriately
  • psychological trauma, including anxiety, PTSD and other mental health impacts following a distressing birth experience

The team has acted in high-value and complex claims requiring long-term care, rehabilitation and financial planning.

As members of the Birth Trauma Association’s legal panel, we work closely with organisations advocating for improved maternity care, while helping families access answers, accountability and support.

How to book

The free clinic will be held on Friday 12 June 2026, with appointments available throughout the day either online or in-person in our Putney office or Holborn office.
