Russell-Cooke adds to growing charity team with new partner appointment
Law firm Russell-Cooke has welcomed a new partner, Pippa Garland, to its growing charity team.
Pippa combines extensive general experience advising charities and social enterprises with a particular focus on charitable giving for high profile individuals, corporate foundations and family foundations. As well as advising charities and social enterprises on issues including corporate structure, governance issues and fundraising, she will play a key role in Russell-Cooke’s cross-practice Family Office service.
Pippa joins from Bates Wells where she was a senior associate. She trained and qualified at Allen & Overy. Pippa has been listed in the Legal 500 for a number of years and has been recognised as a 'Rising Star' (2021).
Pippa is a trustee of charity FoodCycle and sits on the Public Affairs Committee of Philanthropy Impact.
Pippa Garland commented: “I’m excited to be joining Russell-Cooke’s leading charity team. They have real depth of expertise and work with many of the country’s most prominent charities. I look forward to playing a part in enhancing what is already a very strong offering.”
Andrew Studd, partner in the charity team, added: “We’re expanding our team to support our growing number of increasingly sophisticated clients. Pippa will strengthen the team and provide additional senior support, helping us to deliver the best service to our clients. She has already been recognised as a star and we’re delighted that she’s joining us.”
Along with Pippa's hire, the firm has announced two partner promotions and four senior associate promotions, including the promotion of Gareth Roy in the charity team to senior associate, with effect as of 1 July.
Pippa's appointment brings the total number of partners at Russell-Cooke to 63, including 6 in the charity team.
