Russell-Cooke renews partnership with Bond to support charities and international NGOs
Russell-Cooke has renewed its partnership with Bond, the UK network for organisations working in international development, to continue providing legal support and guidance to charities and international NGOs (INGOs).
Russell-Cooke is recognised as one of the leading law firms advising charities and not for profit organisations in the UK. Its charity law and not for profit team advises hundreds of charities on governance, mergers and restructurings, HR and employment, fundraising, data protection, property disputes and transactions, international structures, and charity regulation, including Charity Commission investigations.
Over the past year, Russell-Cooke and Bond have delivered a series of well attended events and legal briefings for Bond members. These have explored issues including trustees’ governance duties for INGOs, protecting beliefs from an employment and charity law perspective, and recent legal and regulatory developments affecting charity fundraising. The sessions have highlighted both the risks and opportunities facing organisations operating amid increasing regulatory scrutiny and global aid cuts.
Building on this work, the renewed partnership will see Russell-Cooke and Bond continue to host events and share practical legal insight and updates on key issues affecting INGOs and charities, including employment reform, governance, fundraising regulation and engagement with the Charity Commission.
“We’re delighted to be renewing our partnership with Bond at a time of significant change for INGOs working in international development,” said Carla Whalen, partner in Russell-Cooke’s charity law and not for profit team.
As reforms such as the Employment Rights Act reshape the UK employment landscape, organisations are having to rethink how they structure, support and sustain their workforces while continuing to deliver impact overseas. This partnership allows us to share timely legal insight that not only helps organisations stay compliant, but supports them to adapt with confidence.
We are thrilled to be continuing our partnership with Russell-Cooke. Through insightful events and expert guidance, Russell-Cooke has already equipped our members with the knowledge they need to navigate an evolving legal and regulatory environment. We look forward to continuing to work together to provide timely, practical support on issues that matter most to organisations in international development.
