

Trust and estate disputes often arise during emotionally challenging times, and litigation can add a significant burden to those involved. My aim is to take on some of that burden and to help clients through the process with clarity and care, enabling them to focus on resolving the dispute and moving forward.
Andrew is an associate in our trust and estate disputes team. He specialises in making and defending will validity claims, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, trust disputes (acting for the trustee and beneficiary) in both domestic and cross-border settings. He also has experience in professional negligence actions with in a trust and estate aspect.
He is ranked as a key lawyer in The Legal 500 and as an Associate to Watch in Chambers and Partners.
Andrew’s recent experience includes:
- representing a partner in the farming partnership in a multi-faceted dispute involving trust, estate, partnership and property law, involving mediation, arbitration and multiple court applications
- three professional negligence claims against firms for negligent preparation of deed, a will and a failed tax avoidance scheme
- representing the claimant under a claim under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 in relation to a high-profile estate
- a successful application for the removal of a personal representative and trustee in an estate under section 50 Administration of Justice Act 1985.
Notable work
His recent notable work includes:
- acting for the First Defendant on the successful side of the Folds v Farm Trustees Ltd & Anor v Cutts & Ors [2024] EWHC 12 (Ch)
- assisting the successful Respondent in Cottrell v Cottrell [2024] UKFTT 00741

Education
Andrew studied law at the University of Birmingham before undertaking the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law at the same time as obtaining an MSc in law, business and management.
