My varied experience and solutions‑focused approach enables me to manage large, multi‑disciplinary transactions efficiently.
James advises on high‑value acquisitions, disposals, leasing and development transactions for UK and international clients. He works with investors, asset managers, developers, occupiers and lenders across a broad range of asset classes, including offices, retail, logistics, hotels, student accommodation, renewable energy assets and mixed‑use developments.
James is particularly experienced in transactions involving complex structuring, joint ventures and portfolio activity, and regularly acts where real estate issues intersect with corporate and financing arrangements.
Prior to re-joining the firm, James worked at a Magic Circle firm and a leading city practice. James trained at Russell-Cooke and returned in 2026 as a legal director.

- Acting for a pension fund on its acquisition of a 50% stake in a 1.3 million sq ft regional shopping centre with annual footfall exceeding 21 million
- Acting for the purchaser on the acquisition of a £50 million London office building
- Advising on the sale of the retail and leisure elements of a flagship mixed‑use regeneration project in central London
- Acting on the sale of a £283 million UK build‑to‑rent portfolio
- Advising on a £180 million development financing of a London hotel
- Advising corporate occupiers, including insurance and hedge fund clients, on London office acquisitions, relocations and leasing, together with specialist occupational arrangements such as rail port facilities and pre‑lets of new‑build logistics and warehouse space
