About Joanna

Criminal investigations can have profound personal and professional consequences. I help clients navigate them with clear, strategic advice and robust representation, from the earliest stages of an investigation through to trial and appeal.

Joanna has ten years’ experience in criminal defence. Having trained at a specialist London firm focused on serious and complex crime, she has built a practice spanning the full spectrum of criminal allegations. She previously headed a magistrates' and youth court department, giving her particular insight into cases involving young people while maintaining a broad criminal practice.

She represents individuals facing allegations including fraud, homicide, firearm offences, terrorism, drug conspiracies and serious violence. She also advises victims of crime in Victims' Right to Review matters, helping challenge decisions not to prosecute or to discontinue proceedings.

A highly experienced advocate, Joanna regularly appears before the magistrates' and youth courts. She supports clients from the outset of an investigation, including interviews under caution, delivering practical advice and effective representation at every stage.

Joanna joined Russell-Cooke in 2022.
